While working on the Sportsman’s Diorama project, I visited three tiger reserves/sanctuaries in Maharashtra, India, where I encountered the amazing beasts, tigers. Wildlife photography is something I’m very passionate about, and I can’t pass up the opportunity to capture them because they were my main topic of interest for the interdisciplinary project.
It always amazes me how these wonderful animals can coexist in a forest with the locals. Photographing them while working on a project about imperial control over these beasts gave me a sense of reemergence of things that are gradually returning to normal, if not improving, in the midst of India’s challenges. The re-emergence and increase of tiger populations has inspired me to create these projects to showcase the beauty of this endangered species.
